Before installing your new voltage regulator rectifier:

• Check the AC output of the stator.
• Replace any burned or corroded connectors on stator and regulator rectifier.
• Check and repair any melted wiring.
• Use hi-temp dielectric grease on all connectors.

This regulator replaces the individual Regulator and Rectifier units used on most XS650 models. The wire color and functions are:

• 3 White wires - Stator AC input
• Brown wire - Field coil + (from key switch on)
• Green wire - Field coil - (controlled by regulator to turn coil on/off to regulate voltage)
• Red wire - Battery + (direct, not keyswitched)
• Check and repair any melted wiring.
• Black wire - Battery - (ground)

Warning:
