Installation
Installation
Before installing your new voltage regulator rectifier;
The OEM stator had a split charging coil to produce more power when the lights were on.
With this regulator you should do the following to produce full output at all times for battery charging.
Connect stator Yellow and White wires together, and to 1 of the Yellow wires on regulator.
Connector stator Pink wire to the other Yellow wire on regulator.
Connect regulator Green wire to Battery negative terminal.
Connect regulator Red wire to Battery positive terminal.
Connect stator Yellow wires to regulator Yellow wires (does not matter which).
Connect regulator Green wire to Battery negative terminal.
Connect regulator Red wire to Battery positive terminal.
- Check the AC output of the stator.
- Replace any burned or corroded connectors on stator and regulator/rectifier
- Check and repair any melted wiring.
- Use hi-temp dielectric grease on all connectors.
Please Note :This unit replaces BOTH your original separate regulator and rectifier. Both original parts will need to be removed. It will require a new mounting location, bracket as it is not a direct fit for the OEM mounting location of either original part.

Please secure the other unused wires from removing the original components.
Warning:
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the battery before servicing.
Ensure proper installation by a qualified technician to avoid malfunction.

I bought a non running trail boss 250. I bought a caltrex stator, coil and cdi box that were supposed to be for the 1985-1988 and couldn't get spark. I double. triple checked all of the wiring I did and still no spark. I got your stator, cdi and coil. Put it all in and was scared to try it because I had already spent too many hours trying to get spark. Hit the button and Bingo spark. I will always buy from RMstator from now on.

I've been chasing a charging issue for a while after replacing everything else in the charging circuit I finally pulled the trigger and bought this. I wish I had done it sooner. Absolutely perfect fit on my 88 Sportster 1200 Xlh, and locks in that voltage at a steady 14.47V at higher rpms. Thank you!!
