Installation
Installation
RM06021 is compatible with both 2004 and 2005 Sea-Doo 3D RFI models equipped with the Rotax 787 RFI engine.
The original OEM coil (278001312) used an additional single-wire lead as part of the older grounding/shielding design. The updated replacement design used by OEM part number 278001546 and our RM06021 integrates this internally and no longer requires the separate external wire.
When installing RM06021:
The original single-wire harness lead is no longer used. Leave the wire disconnected and properly insulated/capped. Do not connect the wire to chassis ground unless specifically instructed by the OEM service manual.
The RM06021 coil grounds through the mounting bracket/core and primary connector system, matching the updated OEM-style design.Remove spark plug cap(s) from your OEM external ignition coil. Screw cap(s) on the new external ignition coil.
Warning:
Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the battery before servicing.
Ensure proper installation by a qualified technician to avoid malfunction.
